Elfred Anthony Pinkard, president of Wilberforce University, will present the keynote address for the 20th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast.
His topic will be “King’s Beloved Community Re-Imagined.”
Pinkard previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina and was founding executive director of the United Negro College Fund Institute for Capacity Building which assists 37 member institutions.
He has held administrative positions at ten institutes of higher learning, including seven historically black colleges or universities, and is on the leadership team at the Higher Education Leadership Foundation, a leadership development organization with a focus on historically black colleges. He received his doctor of education degree in administration, planning and social policy from Harvard University.
The annual breakfast takes place at 7:30 am at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace. Registration starts November 1 with online registration at cwtdiversity.org. Printed registration forms that can be mailed also are available at Centerville Library. Tickets are $20 each, or $200 for a table of ten.
