Recipe Project
Celebrates Diversity
The
Centerville-Washington Diversity Council has cooked up a fun and
flavorful way to celebrate diversity. The council is looking for
recipes that reflect the diversity in our community -- ethnic, religious
and national.
Recipes are compiled and shared on this Web site.
"Our
community expresses its diversity in many ways - through our customs,
our language, and our social activities, to name a few. One of the
most fun aspects of diversity, and certainly the most flavorful, is the
food we eat," said Jan Harry, Diversity Council chair.
The recipe project is
intended to raise awareness about diversity and to honor the diversity
within our community. Contributors are asked to submit a family recipe,
as well as any anecdotes or history surrounding it, although the
Diversity Council welcomes recipes with or without memories and stories
attached.
Recipe submissions are
accepted from anyone who lives or works in Centerville or Washington
Township. Local restaurants and food stores are also encouraged to
participate. Contributors are welcome to supply more than one
recipe.
To submit a favorite recipe,
download and print a recipe form from this
Web site, fill it out, and mail it along with your recipe to the address
on the form.
